A 14-acre all-electric neighborhood on a former county youth-detention site at the edge of County Farm Park, just southeast of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Designed by Union Studio Architecture and developed by THRIVE Collaborative (Matt Grocoff), it is targeted to be one of the nation’s first mixed-income, net-zero-energy communities — 100% all-electric, with more than 1.3 MW of rooftop solar plus battery storage in every home and no gas lines or combustion appliances. Plans call for about 170 homes (roughly 50 built by a local affordable-housing developer), ranging from studio flats to detached houses, plus a small grocery/café, community event space, and a restored 19th-century barn. It follows the International Living Future Institute’s Living Community Challenge.
