Carlton Landing - OK

• Description

  • A New Urbanist town on the southern shores of Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma (about 120 miles east of Oklahoma City, 80 miles west of Tulsa), conceived by developer Grant Humphreys (The Humphreys Co., inspired by Seaside) and designed by Andrés Duany in 2008. Planned across ~2,070 acres (an initial 1,000-acre phase plus a 900-acre second phase) for up to 3,000 units, with a 200-acre nature preserve, ~600 acres reserved for organic farming, its own sewer treatment plant, and low-impact stormwater management. Infrastructure began in 2010 and homebuilding in 2011; Carlton Landing incorporated as a town on October 21, 2013 — the first New Urbanist community to become an incorporated town.
